Clothes Living Their Best Life - My Little Green Wardrobe

Clothes Living Their Best Life

The brands we stock at My Little Green Wardrobe must demonstrate they are acting in a more sustainable way than the current norm.

At launch we’ve gone for a high bar, with many of the brands fulfilling all of the key ethical values devised for the site - ie. kinder to people, planet and animals, as well as an ethos of diversity and inclusivity and giving back to society.

In the future, however, it’s possible we might partner with brands that only meet one or two of these criteria. This is still a vast improvement on the majority of businesses that make little to no effort to act in a sustainable way.

Everyone is on their own sustainability journey, and it’s up to you to decide the brands and the garments that fit with your own ethos. This is why we give you as much info about the clothing and the brands as possible - with a page dedicated to each brand.

It’s also why we have come up with our Ethical Values key, which gives you the tools to make decisions for yourself at a glance. See our Shop by Values section to learn more about the criteria involved for each of the values we’ve assigned.

Along with checking out claims made by brands and trying to find the most eye-catchingly gorgeous collections to bring to you, I’ll also be researching and writing articles to tell you about the core issues at stake with sustainable clothing.

This will cover things such as how clothes are made and how companies are reducing their environmental impact, as well as the great things farmers or collectives are achieving far from here.

I’ll also be investigating a bit about what happens to clothes after you’ve finished with them and give useful tips on how best to wash and care for clothes, which reduces your own impact and enables garments to live their longest - and best - life.

With love,

Lucy
